Welcome to Your Handyman. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. About Us

Your Handyman provides handyman, property maintenance, repair and improvement services to residential, commercial, body corporate and educational facilities throughout Melbourne.

2. Quotes and Pricing

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Quotes are based on the information available at the time.
Additional work requested after a quote has been accepted may incur additional charges.
Hidden damage or unforeseen issues discovered during the work may require a revised quotation before work continues.
Material price increases outside our control may result in revised pricing where applicable.

3. Acceptance of Quote

Acceptance of a quotation may be provided by:
Email
Text message
Verbal confirmation
Approval through our online quotation system
Acceptance authorises Your Handyman to schedule and complete the work.

4. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Payment is due upon completion of the work.
Commercial customers may receive approved account terms.
Invoices unpaid after the due date may incur interest and recovery costs permitted under Australian law.
We accept:
EFT
Credit Card
Cash (where applicable)

5. Variations

If additional work is requested after work has commenced, we will discuss the variation and any additional costs before proceeding whenever practical.

6. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:
Provide safe access to the work area.
Remove valuable or fragile items where necessary.
Ensure utilities such as electricity and water are available where required.
Advise us of any known hazards before work begins.

7. Materials

Unless otherwise specified:
Materials supplied remain the property of Your Handyman until paid in full.
Customers may choose to supply their own materials; however, we cannot guarantee the quality or suitability of customer-supplied products.

8. Workmanship Guarantee

We take pride in delivering quality workmanship.
If you believe work has not been completed to an acceptable standard, please notify us within 14 days so we can inspect the issue and, where appropriate, rectify workmanship defects.
This guarantee does not cover:
Normal wear and tear
Damage caused by misuse
Damage caused by others
Structural movement
Water leaks or moisture issues beyond our control
Manufacturer defects

9. Existing Conditions

Your Handyman cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from:
Existing structural defects
Hidden services or utilities
Water ingress
Pest damage
Previous poor workmanship
Age-related deterioration
Where such issues are identified, we will advise the customer before continuing where possible.

10. Access Delays

If we are unable to complete scheduled work because:
access is unavailable,
the work area is unsafe,
another contractor causes delays,
additional attendance charges may apply.

11. Cancellations

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee where labour or materials have already been allocated.

12. Warranty

Manufacturer warranties apply to products supplied where applicable.
Your Handyman passes these warranties on to the customer but is not responsible for manufacturer warranty decisions.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law:
Our liability is limited to rectifying defective workmanship or refunding the affected portion of the work.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss including loss of income, business interruption or loss of profits.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

14. Safety

Safety is our priority.
Our staff:
Follow safe work practices.
Carry Public Liability Insurance.
Hold Working With Children Checks where required.
Comply with relevant Australian Standards where applicable.
Customers must immediately notify us of any known hazards at the property.

15. Test & Tag Services

Where Test & Tag services are provided:
Testing is completed in accordance with AS/NZS 3760:2022.
Equipment is tested at the time of inspection only.
Passing a test does not guarantee future performance or ongoing electrical safety.

16. Privacy

We respect your privacy.
Customer information is used only for:
Providing quotations
Completing work
Processing invoices
Customer communication
We do not sell or disclose personal information except where required by law.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.

17. Website Content

All website content, logos, photographs and text remain the property of Your Handyman unless otherwise stated.
Content may not be copied or reproduced without written permission.

18. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Any disputes shall be resolved within the appropriate courts of Victoria.
