Last updated: 5 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to quotations and services provided by Your Handyman. By accepting a quotation or instructing Your Handyman to commence work, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance of Quotation

Acceptance of a quotation confirms the client’s approval for the quoted works to proceed in accordance with the scope of works, pricing and these Terms & Conditions. Acceptance may be provided in writing, electronically, by approval of the quotation, or by instructing Your Handyman to commence the work.

2. Scope of Works

A quotation covers only the work specifically described in the quotation. Any additional work requested by the client, or work subsequently identified as necessary and outside the quoted scope, may incur additional labour, material and associated charges.

3. Unforeseen or Additional Work

Every reasonable effort is made to identify the work required before commencement. However, concealed damage, deterioration, hidden defects or other conditions may only become apparent once work has commenced. Where additional work is required, the client will be advised of the issue and any additional costs before proceeding wherever reasonably practical.

4. Materials and Hardware

Materials and hardware specifically included in the quotation are included in the quoted price. Additional or replacement materials not included in the original scope may be charged separately following approval by the client. Where a particular product or material becomes unavailable, a reasonably equivalent alternative may be proposed to the client.

5. Access to the Work Area

The client is responsible for providing reasonable and safe access to the property and work area at the agreed time. Where practical, furniture, personal belongings and other obstructions should be removed from the immediate work area before work commences. Additional charges may apply where work is delayed or additional labour is required because reasonable access has not been provided.

6. Existing Conditions

Reasonable care will be taken when carrying out all work. Subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, Your Handyman is not responsible for defects, deterioration or damage resulting from pre-existing conditions, structural movement, hidden defects, previous workmanship, or the failure or deterioration of existing materials, fixtures or components.

7. Completion and Clean-Up

On completion of the work, the immediate work area will be left reasonably clean and tidy. Waste generated directly from the quoted work will be removed where this is included in the quotation. Disposal of existing materials, rubbish or other waste not generated by the quoted work may incur an additional charge.

8. Variations

Changes to the agreed scope of works may result in additional labour, materials and associated costs. Variations will be discussed with the client before proceeding wherever reasonably practical. Approval of a variation may be provided verbally, in writing or electronically.

9. Scheduling and Delays

Every reasonable effort will be made to commence and complete work within agreed timeframes. Scheduled dates and completion times may be affected by weather, material availability, access, other trades, unforeseen site conditions, emergencies or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where practicable, the client will be advised of significant changes to the anticipated schedule.

10. Quotation Validity

Unless otherwise stated on the quotation, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After this period, pricing and material costs may be reviewed before the work is accepted or scheduled.

11. Deposits and Materials

Where a deposit or advance payment is specified in the quotation, the required amount must be paid before materials are ordered or work commences unless otherwise agreed. Special-order or custom materials may require payment in advance.

12. Payment

Payment is due in accordance with the payment terms stated on the quotation or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable on completion of the quoted works. Approved additional work, labour, materials or variations may be invoiced separately.

13. Late Payments

Accounts that remain unpaid after the due date may incur a late payment fee of 2% of the outstanding balance per month, calculated from the payment due date until payment is received, to the extent permitted by law. The client may also be responsible for reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts, including debt-recovery and legal costs, where permitted by law. Your Handyman reserves the right to suspend or postpone further work where an account remains overdue until the outstanding amount has been paid. If a client believes an invoice is incorrect or wishes to dispute a charge, they should contact Your Handyman promptly so the matter can be reviewed.

14. Cancellation and Rescheduling

Clients are requested to provide reasonable notice if scheduled work needs to be cancelled or rescheduled. Where materials have already been purchased, specially ordered or prepared for the work, the client may remain responsible for those costs. Reasonable costs may also apply where work is cancelled after attendance at the property or where access cannot be provided at the agreed time.

15. Workmanship

All work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable requirements relevant to the work being undertaken. If the client has a concern regarding completed work, they should contact Your Handyman within a reasonable period so the matter can be inspected and, where appropriate, rectified.

16. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, the client retains all rights and remedies provided by law.

17. Client Approval

By accepting a quotation, approving work electronically or in writing, or instructing Your Handyman to commence work, the client acknowledges that they have reviewed and accepted the quoted scope of works, pricing and these Terms & Conditions.
